Stage
In Argentina, YPF is the largest producer of LPG in the country, marketing it through YPF Gas, bottled and in bulk, in the domestic, commercial and industrial markets, with a market share of 34.2%. For bulk distribution, it has a fleet of more than 120 trucks and 15 dispatch plants, which currently meet the demand of more than 80,000 tanks distributed in the facilities of more than 50,000 customers throughout the country.
The challenge
Each of those more than 50,000 customers spread throughout the country, before running out of LPG, must be refueled by one of the trucks and, immediately, must receive their invoice and the corresponding receipt for payment of the LPG cargo received. .
How to ensure that the volume of LPG billed to each customer matches exactly what was loaded and that, at the end of the day, what is billed to all customers matches the amount missing from the tank truck?
The solution
Each of the more than 120 trucks that serve the 50,000 bulk LPG customers carry a Hand Held with Windows Mobile, connected to the serial port of the tank truck’s mass meter, with an application developed and implemented by the team of professionals at Softron. For each client, this application records the volume of LPG discharged, issues the invoice and the corresponding receipt, and these are printed on a portable printer and subsequently delivered to the client. At the same time, this operation is transmitted online to a YPF Gas operations center.
